Antique mahogany longcase clock of elegant small proportions, eight-day duration with silvered dial and rocking ship automata.
 
The high quality case is of small size, standing only 81 inches high. The well-figured mahogany case has an arched top to the hood with brass capped columns. The case has a long trunk door and canted corners.
 
The original brass framed movement is of eight day duration with the hours sounding on a single bell.
 
The time is displayed to the finely engraved silvered dial with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture. The dial is signed "Joseph Towan Plymouth Dock" and there is a rocking ship automata to the arch.
