John Belling's dials are quite distinctive and often dated as this example is 1764. Note also the old spelling of Bodmyn
on the dial engraving. It is housed in its original primitive stained pine case - small and simple

On a historical note: John Belling founded a clock-making dynasty and several generations of the Belling family continued as clockmakers in Bodmin until the early years of the twentieth century when they changed to manufacturing domestic cookers and became famous for the "Baby Belling"
